Independence Day: Change of Actress
Independence Day 2016, 20 years later, but it looks it’s set in the past. Why? Well, the original movie was released in 1996 with Will Smith, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman and (as his daugther) Mae Whitman. Twenty years later, as is getting more and more common, we get a nostalgic second movie, Independence Day: Resurgence. This time Will Smith wasn’t able to take part because he was busy in another one (Suicide Squad) but Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman are back. And Mae Whitman? Well, she was replaced by Maika Monroe and she wasn’t even considered for her old role. Why? Simple answer: Hollywood.
Mae Whitman is not in the child-actors-go-crazy club and she didn’t quit acting. She’s a successful and talented young actress with roles on Arrested Development, Parenthood and The Duff. Why the change? Well, I asked myself the same question.

We live in a world where talented, gorgeous Mae Whitman isn't "hot" enough. Hollywood is gross.

Come on guys, it's not like that child actress from Independence Day grew into a talented, bankable young–wait, that was Mae Whitman?! WTF?
