May the force be with you, princess Leia
Sad news for all of the Star Wars fans. Carrie Fisher, infamous for her role as Princess Leia, died yesterday at the age of 60. She had a massive heart attack on her flight from London to Los Angeles and she couldn’t overcome it.
First question you might have, What about Star Wars Episode VIII? Well, the movie finished shooting in July and now is in post-production. Fisher’s work on the sequel was finished. Meaning, the producers of the Star Wars series, will not have to address Fisher’s death until the ninth episode by 2018. Leia was supposed to be in that movie and the director of episode XIX wanted her to have a bigger role in it.
Of course, Carrie Fisher wasn’t just known as Princess Leia. She was a wonderful script doctor who refused to work for free and so didn’t, author of several bestseller books, and all around great actress with her unique sense of humor.
She was Princess Leia to the world but a special friend to all of us. We will miss her dearly.
